Ovarian Cancer is the most deadly cancer among all gynaecological cancers as it gets diagnosed mostly in advanced stages. At present no definite screening test is available for ovarian cancer. There are tests like transvaginal ultrasound and CA-125 (tumour marker) which can be done to pick up cases in early stages. But it is also important that the ultrasound is done by an expert in the field. By these tests one can calculate the ‘Risk of Malignancy Index (RMI)’ in the doubtful cases. These are not the screening tests for normal population but can be used for high risk females and should be done annually.
